We have been watching the American bald eagles on the campus of Berry College in Georgia. We started watching them as part of our American symbols unit, and it also relates to our animal life cycle unit that will come up later in the year.
Today, Berry College hosted a live chat with their local eagle expert. They asked for questions to be submitted on Twitter so our class wrote a question and sent it (hoping it would be one of the questions picked to be answered!). The students worked hard to compose the tweet by making sure we used capital letters where needed and the correct punctuation! They also helped spell the words and choose how we would say it. And their hard work paid off! Our question was answered during the live chat!
Here is a link to the live chat where our question was answered. It is answered at 11:00 minutes in if you want to just fast forward! The kids were so excited and pretty impressed when they heard our school name:

The answer to our question:
The eaglet eats 10-12 times a day which adds up to about 1/2 a fish each day!
