As you all know we have a very important election going on right now for the education system in South Carolina. We are currently in the process of selecting candidates to be on the ballot in November of this year. The Primary was held on June 10, but there was not one candidate (Democrats or Republicans) who received a majority of the votes. This means we will have a runoff on June 24.
**Remember: You CAN vote in the runoff even if you did not vote in the Primary on June 10! Your choices will be as follows:
Democrats:
Sheila Gallagher
Tom Thompson
Republicans:
Molly Spearman
Sally Atwater
The most important thing to do in this situation is to become informed about the candidates and choose the one who you feel the most aligned with.
Get informed. Know your vision. Go out and vote.
If you click on any of the names above it will take you to their websites so you can read more about their platforms, values, and ideas for education in the state of South Carolina. Please read/view some of the sources below as well before you make your final choice!
Here are some other articles worth checking out about the candidates above:

*Update: There is not a new debate between the Republican Runoff Candidates because Sally Atwater refused/declined to debate with Molly Spearman before the runoff. However, the two Democratic candidates in the runoff did have another debate on Thursday, June 19. I am posting that directly below.
