We visited several places in our Rock Hill community including ArrowPointe Credit Union, PetSmart, Home Depot, Zaxby's, and River Walk!
This trip was a chance for our students to get real life, relevant knowledge about many of our big units of study this year. Here is what we learned about at each location:
ArrowPointe- We learned about how services are obtained at a bank, how to save money, and saw the different parts of a bank.
PetSmart- We learned about animal habitats. We were able to discuss the different types of things each type of animal needs in order to survive.
Home Depot- First we visited the materials section, and we learned about the different materials used to build a house. We talked about the difference between Sheetrock, wood, shingles, metal, and plastic and what each one is used for.
We then visited the garden center where we learned about seeds, what plants need to grow, the difference between annuals and perrenials, and why butterflies and bees are important.
We then picked up our lunch at Zaxby's and had a fun picnic at RiverWalk! We had a wonderful time exploring our community while learning all kinds of amazing things!
