- Read
Of course you know I will say this: read, read, read! Make sure you are filling out your reading log with any books you and your child are reading together during our snow days!
- Post Office Center!
We have been mailing letters to each other in the classroom at our own post office center. You could make one at home too. All you need is paper, envelopes(any junk mail lying around with return envelopes? Those are great for this!), old stationary/cards, pencils, crayons, etc. You can even use small stickers for stamps! Each family member can make their own mailbox out of a shoebox, cereal box, or any other cardboard box you have! Next step, start decorating and writing! With Valentine's Day tomorrow, this is a perfect time to make family cards!
- Class Valentine Cards!
If your child hasn't finished these yet, you can work on these! We will be making up our Valentine celebration when we return to school! Remember: make sure your child is working on writing his/her name and the names of the friends in our class. If you need an extra class list, just email me!
- Research!
I emailed and sent out a list of your child's choice of topic/person for the social studies project we are working on! This would be a great time to do some research to find out more about your topic! What interesting facts can you find together?
*If you can't find/remember your child's topic or just want to double check, email me for it!
- Dance Party!
Too cold to go outside but need to get the wiggles out? Here are some links to fun songs we sing in class! Fun and excercise all rolled into one activity! Pull these up on the computer, TV, or video game console if you have access:

- Cook and Write About It!
Our unit on writing this 9 weeks is teaching us how to write "How To" books! Cook together, talk about the steps, and then write about how to make whatever it is you are cooking! Snow Cream would be a good one! Simple Recipe here:

If you do write a book, please bring it to school to show us when we come back. We want to hear you read it!
Have fun, stay safe, be warm!
