Today we worked on making holiday cards for the troops! These will be mailed off in time for the holidays. The students really enjoyed this activity, and we talked about the importance of giving. The Elf on the Shelf tradition is really helping the students write great narratives during Writing Workshop! We have an elf who is visiting us at school, and I know a lot of the students have been telling stories about the mischief their elves are causing at home as well! You can see pictures of our class elf, Perriwinkle, and also some of the writing the students are doing! We have started our new unit in math this week! We are focusing on measuring objects using non-standard units of measure. We have all traced our shoes, and we are working on measuring all of those. We are also measuring tape, and continuing to work on counting. See some pictures below to check out what we are working on during math workshop! |
