What a wonderful Wednesday we had today! We are becoming Super Writers, and our work during Writing Workshop keeps getting better and better! We have learned that we can read our writing by pointing to each picture and word on the page while saying what it is. We also learned how to take a survey today during Math Workshop. Our question for the survey today was: "Are you a boy or a girl?" We used our survey results to find out that there are more girls than boys in our class!
We have a new student in our class! Her name is Kennedy, and her first day was today. Now we have two Kennedys in our class! We had so much fun showing her how to be Super Stars! We are so excited she is in our class! We had another awesome day in Kindergarten! We worked really hard during writing workshop, and we had fun in computer lab. During Math Workshop, we played a game called Attribute Block Match Up. We talked about how we could match them by size, color, shape, thickness, and number of sides. Katelyn even found another way to match them! She matched them up by what material they were made out of: plastic or foam. Good thinking Katelyn! We added something new to our Math Workshop today: The Counting Jar! We had to count to find out how many things were in the counting jar, and then we counted out other objects to match that set. We also continued adding to our writing workshop pieces today. We can't wait to display these in the hall! Today we talked about the new Counting Jar in our classroom, and we read the book Mouse Count. The snake in the book counted the mice and put them in a jar. The mice escaped! We also put our names in order using name puzzles. During Writing Workshop we learned our second rule of being a Super Writer: When we are done, we have just begun! At recess, we met Officer Eller. He helps take care of our school! We had a great day! We read the book Library Mouse, and the book helped us learn that writers write what they know! We played on the playground, we ate lunch, and we went to art class. We also observed Writing Spiders outside our school! Look at us writing during our Writing Workshop today! |
